Women and ADHD Community Group

The Women and ADHD Support Group is a welcoming monthly support group in King's Lynn, Norfolk, created by women, for women, who want to better understand themselves and connect with others who simply "get it".

Together, we gather in a non-judgmental and compassionate space to explore the hidden realities of ADHD and related neurodivergent experiences. Through neurodivergent-affirming psychoeducation, reflective discussion, creative activities and shared lived experiences, we uncover the patterns, strengths and challenges that often go unseen by others, and sometimes by ourselves.

Many women arrive carrying years of self-criticism, shame, overwhelm or a sense that they are somehow failing at things that seem effortless for everyone else. Hearing others describe experiences that mirror our own can be incredibly powerful. It reminds us that we are not alone, and that many of the struggles we have internalised are understandable responses to navigating a world that was not designed for neurodivergent minds.

Our sessions blend evidence-informed learning with practical strategies, self-reflection and community connection. Whilst the group is facilitated by qualified counsellors, it is not therapy. However, many members describe the experience as therapeutic because it creates opportunities for insight, self-awareness, self-compassion and meaningful connection.

Alongside our monthly workshops, we encourage creativity, community contribution and shared strengths. We use art and creative expression to explore experiences that can be difficult to put into words. Our Letting Go Shop helps reduce waste by supporting members to declutter and redirect items to a loving home, away from landfill.

We are also developing a Hobby Share initiative that celebrates the talents, interests, and skills within our community and creates opportunities for members to learn from one another.

Whether you are newly exploring ADHD, awaiting assessment, formally diagnosed, or simply recognise yourself in the experiences discussed, you will find a warm welcome here.

Because understanding ourselves changes everything. And healing often begins when we realise we are not the only one.

Not Broken, Just Spiky

Exploring the ADHD Brain Through Self-Reflection, Creativity and Connection

📍One-to-One Project, Bergen Way, Kings Lynn. PE30 2DE

📍What3Words location vocab.chat.turkey

Ever wondered why you can organise an entire holiday in two hours, but can't reply to that text you've been meaning to send for three weeks?

Why some things feel effortless whilst others leave you overwhelmed, exhausted or stuck?

This month we're exploring the wonderfully unique world of ADHD through the concept of the Spiky Profile.

Rather than focusing on labels, deficits or diagnostic checklists, this session invites you to explore what ADHD actually looks and feels like in your life.

Together we'll reflect on:

• The strengths that come naturally to us
• The challenges we face at home, work and in relationships
• Executive function struggles and the creative ways we adapt
• Communication, social experiences and emotional overwhelm
• The hidden impacts of ADHD that often go unnoticed by others
• The parts of ourselves we have learned to criticise and the strengths we may have overlooked

This is not a classroom and it is not a lecture.

There is no expectation to speak, share or get anything "right".

Instead, we'll create a compassionate space where women can connect, reflect and learn from one another through shared experiences.

Get Curious. Get Creative.

As Women and ADHD continues to grow, we're inviting our community to help shape our future.

This session will also launch our Community Logo Project, giving members the opportunity to contribute ideas, colours, symbols and creativity towards designing a logo that truly represents who we are.

We'll be using a range of creative materials, including drawing and clay, to explore a simple therapeutic art activity:

What Does Your ADHD Look Like?

If your ADHD had a shape, colour, texture or personality, what would it be?

Create it. Draw it. Sculpt it. Explore it.

Sometimes the things we struggle to explain with words make sense when we give them a different way to be expressed.

Whether you're newly diagnosed, self-identify, waiting for assessment or simply curious about yourself, you'll find a warm welcome here.

Come and explore our new venue, meet other women who understand, and spend an afternoon discovering that perhaps the things you've always seen as flaws are simply part of your unique design.

Because understanding ourselves is often the first step towards self-compassion.
